We are the Intersectionality and Marginalization Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison

We are psychologists conducting research

on how oppression shapes and influences

Black women’s identities, attitudes, and behaviors.

We take a strengths-based approach to this research,

examining how Black women define themselves for themselves,

despite discrimination and marginalization.

  • We are a community of researchers, educators, and students.

  • We are investigators of untold narratives.

  • We are advocates for social justice.
